How we work on large door products is a staged approach so low risk for all involved. Costs are known upfront and all engineering is done early. There is no free engineering on jobs of this type and it is important you are comfortable with our engineering abilities before all else as it is the foundation on which these projects are based.


Our recommended staged approach to large doors projects is:
  1. Client to provide specifications and wind loading for the area to which the doors will be installed. Make sure you differentiate wind loadings when the doors are closed or on motion.
  2. Leda will provide basic door information such as how the doors are typically mounted or similar drawings. They are not site specific at this early stage.
  3. Leda will provide a door quote including engineering costs. We trust at around this point a preferred supplier can be identified as all costs are now identified. Once Leda has wind loadings, location and door sizes we typically quote in 5-7 days.
  4. If your due diligence in relation to Leda and the door are satisfied, Leda should be engaged to assist with final door designs to meet site specific building requirements including structural certificate agreement of the door which is crucial to do before the project starts. The structural engineering is billable work but no commitment beyond engineering costs eg 15-40K typically depending on size, wind loading and quantity of doors is required.
  5. Final door and installation costs submitted if any changes.
  6. Awarding of contract.

Lead times guide
While lead will provide a complete project timeline with our quote some timing guidelines are below:
  1. Quotation 5-7 days
  2. Engineering can be from 5 days to 5 weeks and a hard task to pin down as lots of changes, people and sign offs required.
  3. From drawing sign off to goods ready for shipment (overseas) is approx 6-10 weeks again dependent on size and quantity.
  4. Shipment time we allow 6 weeks and add 2 more weeks for customs and road shipment to site.
  5. Installation for small doors is typically 2 days and large doors up to 7 days each. Doors under 12 mtrs can be shipped largely assembled so faster to install.

Payment
These doors are site specific so a 50% deposit is required on drawing sign off only. This is when we proceed to production.

PVC available in a variety of basic colours
Steel sections coated in epoxy based paint
Doors weight 4000-5000kg sop need power to operate.
You can connect to a fire alarm system but power still needs to be available. Motors are 3 phase
Safety with Cable break systems and PE beams
Motor is IP44 and control box IP65
Standard operation by push button. Remotes or access control plugins also available.
